I agree with the suggestion of Julienzaegel, and I just added two three little teasing comments: "cruise" in the Amazon are not cruises, but boat trips ... Nuance! Comfort is rudimentary, even when taking cabs (humidity, smell ...). Meals are almost entirely composed of rice-beans-red piece of meat or fish taken in working around small wooden tables. The boat is filled with colorful hammocks crammed with people, and there is often music (sometimes very strong) late into the night. Because the boat is the only means of transport in the Amazon. This is comparable to the train here, nothing more ... It will be true, for sure!
If you want more comfort, we must then go through the services of a tourist agency ...! "tourism" in the Brazilian Amazon is not the same as Peru, Bolivia or Ecuador. There are some agencies (in Belem, Manaus ...) but you will not be bothered by colleagues (except perhaps Guyanese, including myself, traveling close ...). So no worries at this level ... A trip to the Amazon off the beaten track ... it's a trip in the forest, and the conditions are so beyond rude !!! Note laugh, it is not too concern in Brazil, as the forest is massacred ... Finally, I try to take it with humor, but it's an area that I begin to know well (several trips Macapa and Belem, multiple crossings of the Amazon, a Trans-independent, the Manaus-Porto Velho highway, etc ...) and yes, the forest is only a shadow of itself. It is reduced to green pastures ... Leaving Guyana for my first trip, I told myself: "I will see the real forest ..." Now, I have not found better than the one I had exit (Suriname, Bolivia, Peru, they have much better understood the stakes, especially tourism, and is best preserved).
In short, it will be a great trip, especially if you do not know anything about the environment, but not too much fantasy in the Brazilian Amazon.
